Notes of honeysuckle, orange blossom, and lemon rind greet the nose and carry onto the palate. The weight is lighter but noticeable, with heightened acidity and nice roundness on the finish.

Beautiful aromas greet the nose out of the glass, suggesting raspberry, wild strawberry, damp forest floor, mushroom earthiness and a hint of toasted wood. This lighter-bodied red wine has well-integrated, fine-grained tannins that add textural structure without overwhelming the delicate fruits. The palate confirms the nose but opens to further notes of fresh and dried black fig, fennel fronds and tarragon. Overall, the wine is delicate, nuanced and well balanced. The nose enters with a deep black cherry and raspberry compote. The rich berries blend on the palate with a hint of bay leaf, ground cardamom and a delicate bouquet of violets.
This is the swiss army knife of pairing wines. I’m hard pressed to find something I don’t like with it, pizza, pasta, roasts, steak - it all works. This is especially delicious with the range of rich flavors from Thanksgiving.
